Significant Progress Toward Making Islamabad an Encroachment-Free Model Capital Under Mohsin Naqvi’s Leadership

ISLAMABAD: Under the dynamic and result-oriented leadership of Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, indiscriminate operations against illegal encroachments are underway under a strict zero-tolerance policy. The drive aims to reclaim government land and properties from illegal occupation, restore civic discipline, and transform Islamabad into a clean, green, safe, beautiful, eco-friendly, and tourism-friendly model capital.
Under the leadership of CDA Chairman & Chief Commissioner Islamabad Suhail Ashraf and the direct supervision of Deputy DG Enforcement & CEO MCI Dr. Anum Fatima, teams from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) are conducting coordinated anti-encroachment operations. Through this “Whole-of-Government Approach,” effective inter-agency communication ensures swift action, monitoring, and robust follow-up.
Under the zero-tolerance policy, indiscriminate action is being taken against illegal structures, commercial extensions, kiosks, roadside stalls, and the illegal commercial use of green belts, footpaths, state land, and residential properties.
Operations across various areas—including Saidpur Village, Noorpur Shahan, the Islamabad Expressway, and Tarnol—have resulted in the removal of illegal structures, the recovery of valuable state land, and the restoration of public thoroughfares. Ongoing enforcement continues across markets, residential sectors, service roads, and green belts.
During the campaign, thousands of kanals of government land, properties, and commercial assets valued at billions of rupees have been reclaimed. The removal of encroachments has significantly improved traffic flow, pedestrian walkways, green belts, parks, and the overall urban environment.
The anti-encroachment drive is garnering widespread public appreciation. Transparent, continuous, and unbiased operations are being hailed as a major step toward effective governance and the uniform application of the law, sparking public sentiment reflecting “Well Done Mohsin Naqvi.”
“Mohsin Speed” is emerging as a symbol of swift and result-oriented governance. If the current momentum and consistency are maintained, Islamabad will further distinguish itself as an encroachment-free, clean, green, safe, sustainable, beautiful, and exemplary model capital on the global stage.
This campaign is not only restoring Islamabad’s aesthetic appeal and civic discipline, but it is also establishing a replicable national model for good governance, the unbiased enforcement of law, the protection of state property, and balanced urban and rural development across the country.
