U23 National men’s football team tryouts conclude in Multan

Multan – The U23 National Men’s Football Team tryouts concluded at the Divisional Sports Ground in Multan. The two-day selection process was part of preparations for the upcoming AFC U23 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia.

Supervised by assistant coaches Muhammad Habib, Mehmood Khan, Gohar Zaman, and goalkeeper coach Jaffar Khan, the trials provided a valuable platform for emerging players to showcase their abilities and compete for a place in the national squad.

Nearly 500 players from all provinces of Pakistan participated, including players from Australia, Europe, and the UAE, highlighting the growing global interest in representing Pakistan. The coaching panel closely evaluated performances and overall game understanding.

The final squad of 23 players for the tournament will be announced in due course following a detailed review of performances observed during the tryouts.

Sharing his views, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) President Syed Mohsen Gilani said, “It’s great to see talent emerging from across the country after nearly a decade. The passion and dedication shown by these young players give us renewed hope for the future of Pakistan football.”

He also applauded the District Football Association of Multan for making the best possible arrangements for the tryouts.
