SJAL re-elects Aqeel,  Muhammad Yousaf(Anjum), Afzal in unopposed elections

Lahore: The Sports Journalists Association of Lahore (SJAL) re-elected its top office-bearers unopposed during the Annual General Council meeting, ensuring continuity in leadership for another two-year term.

Aqeel Ahmed was unanimously re-elected as President, Muhammad Yousaf Anjum as Secretary General, and Afzal Iftikhar as Treasurer. The elections were overseen by an Election Commission comprising Sarfaraz Ahmed, Farrukh Atta Butt, and Rafiq Khan. All three office-bearers were elected without opposition.

Chaired by President Aqeel Ahmed, the meeting drew a large turnout of senior and active SJAL members. Prior to the elections, Secretary Muhammad Yousaf Anjum presented a detailed report on the association’s activities and performance over the past two years.

Among the senior members in attendance were Shahid Sheikh, Zahid Maqsood, Sohail Ali, and Muhammad Yaqoob. Other participants included Sohail Imran, Chaudhry Ashraf, Sheikh Ijaz, Ihtesham-ul-Haq, Zulqarnain Sheikh, Shehzad Malik, Rana Azar, Mian Asghar, Azhar Masood, Hafiz Shahbaz, Qadir Khawaja, and Taqweem Millat Shah, along with several other SJAL members.

The session began with Fateha for departed relatives of association members, including the father-in-law of former President Aamir Raza and the father of member Akhlaq Aslam.
