Cricket action in Kuwait DP World T20
Kuwait is gearing up to host its inaugural DP World ILT20 Development Tournament, a strategic partnership between the Kuwait Cricket Board and DP World ILT20, at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground in September 2025. This landmark event aims to identify and develop Kuwait’s top cricketing talent, providing a pathway to the globally renowned DP World ILT20 tournament in Dubai this December.
Key Highlights:
- Participating Teams: Four competitive teams will feature in the tournament:
- Boubyan Warriors
- Failaika Guardians
- Pearl Strikers
- Kuwait Falcons
- Player Selection: 60 players, including 19 contracted national team players and 10 junior emerging stars, will be selected by the High Performance Committee based on relevant KPIs.
- Tournament Format: 14 high-intensity matches will be played, giving every player ample opportunity to showcase their skills.
- Official Draft:
- August 7: Head coaches, captains, and managers for each team will be announced.
- August 8: A 15-member squad will be selected by each team’s respective head coach, captain, and manager during the official draft at Sulaibiya Cricket Ground.
