Chaudhry Pervez Sandhila Hosts Dinner for Pakistan Hockey Team in The Hague
A special dinner was hosted in honour of the Pakistan national hockey team, currently in the Netherlands for the Hockey World Cup, by Chaudhry Pervez Sandhila, Member of the Governing Board of the Pakistan Hockey Federation.
.The event was attended by Captain Abu Bakar Mahmood, Team Manager Muhammad Owais Qarni, team officials, and all players.Deputy Mayor of The Hague, Adeel Ahmed, graced the occasion as a special guest. He met with the national players, boosted their morale, and congratulated the entire team on their improved performance in recent matches.Renowned Pakistani sports journalist Syed Yahya Hussaini, who is in the Netherlands covering the Hockey World Cup, also attended the event. He mingled with fans and members of the Pakistani community, took pictures, and spoke positively and encouragingly about Pakistan hockey and the promotion of sports in the country.
Taking a break from the World Cup’s demanding schedule, the national players spent quality time with the Pakistani community in a pleasant atmosphere. Guests were treated to a selection of the finest Pakistani cuisine, and the players interacted warmly with community members.Prominent figures from the Pakistani community were also present and expressed strong support for the national team. Participants congratulated the players on their improved performance and noted that under the new administration and the current leadership of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, the team’s performance has been steadily improving.Attendees specially appreciated the efforts of PHF President Mohyuddin Wani, stating that in a short period he has taken exemplary steps for the revival of Pakistan hockey, provision of better facilities for players, and restoring the national team to a prominent position on the world stage.Speaking to media, Chaudhry Pervez Sandhila said: “The Prime Minister’s vision is to restore the national sport of hockey to its historic glory. Pakistan is the only team in the world to have won the Hockey World Cup four times, and its past is truly glorious.”He added that PHF President Mohyuddin Wani is working day and night in line with the Prime Minister’s vision to make Pakistan hockey a global power again. The efforts of the new administration, modern coaching, and the players’ hard work are already showing positive results.Chaudhry Pervez Sandhila further informed that after the World Cup, the Pakistan hockey team will tour Korea, followed by participation in the Asia Cup to be held in Japan. The team leadership expressed their resolve that their next major target is to achieve outstanding success in the Asia Cup and dedicate the victory to the people of Pakistan.At the conclusion of the event, participants wished the national team and management well, expressing hope that Pakistan will soon regain its lost global standing in hockey.The special dinner was arranged by Tandoori Restaurant. The restaurant management, Rana Brothers, prepared delicious and traditional Pakistani dishes which were greatly enjoyed by the entire team. The players and officials thanked the Rana Brothers, saying they got an authentic Pakistani taste in Amsterdam — something rarely found in Europe before.
