German Embassy Cultural Attaché Visits Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy

Jan Gerald, Cultural Attaché at the German Embassy in Pakistan, visited Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy in Lahore and distributed shoes among young players. The ceremony was held at the National Hockey Stadium’s turf, where Gerald was the chief guest. He distributed shoes and chocolates among boys and girls, and also presented school bags to two students.

The academy’s patron-in-chief, international hockey player Ajmal Khan Lodhi, vice-chairman Muhammad Yousaf Anjum, Abdul Samad, Habib Azhar, and coach Mohib Ullah praised the German Embassy and German club WTHC for their cooperation and support.

Jan Gerald said, “It was a pleasure to meet the talented children at Khawaja Junaid Hockey Academy. Pakistan has a rich hockey history, and the relations between Pakistan and Germany in hockey are valued. The donation of shoes by the German club is an example of goodwill and will strengthen our relations.”

He added, “Hockey can improve in Pakistan only if we work at the grassroots level. I wish Pakistan regains its glory in hockey.” The academy’s patron-in-chief, Ajmal Khan Lodhi, thanked Jan Gerald and presented a souvenir to him.
