Stefan Blocher – The German Hockey Legend, “White Pakistani”

Stefan Blocher, a true German hockey legend, is affectionately known in world as the “White Pakistani” because of his deep love and affection for the country. On the field and off it, Stefan was regarded as the most stylish hockey player of his era.

During the 1980s, he was celebrated as the most glamorous star of world hockey. His memories of riding a motorbike along the historic Mall Road in Lahore still live fresh in the hearts of many.

In recent years, Stefan has frequently visited Pakistan, becoming a bridge between German and Pakistani hockey. He was the man who brought German clubs and even the national hockey team back to Pakistan after a gap of 21 years—an extraordinary contribution to reviving international hockey ties.

Today, during the final of the EuroHockey Men’s Championship, Stefan Blocher was rightfully honoured with induction into the Hall of Fame for his outstanding contributions both as a remarkable player and as a great ambassador of the game.
